Hello Luca,

It looks like rebar is trying to format something as a string, which it can’t do because of invalid char values.

I copied the list from your error message above and tried to print it out in the erlang console. As expected, I got a badarg error.

15> L = [91,32,34,108,111,99,97,108,104,111,115,116,50,34,44,32,34,109,105,99,104,97,322,34,93].
[91,32,34,108,111,99,97,108,104,111,115,116,50,34,44,32,34,
 109,105,99,104,97,322,34,93]
16> io:format("~s~n", [L]).
** exception error: bad argument
     in function io:format/3
        called as io:format(<0.25.0>,"~s~n",
                            [[91,32,34,108,111,99,97,108,104,111,115,116,50,34,44,32,34,
                              109,105,99,104,97,322,34,93]])

Did you maybe change any config/overlay files under the rel/* directory?
I’m just guessing here — I tried to reproduce your error message, but make devrel ran smoothly on my machine (also Mac).

Regards,
Simon
