As a full-time Back End Software Engineer at Stem, you will be sharp and savvy in developing the software to support our products. The ideal candidate will have strong software development skills to collaboratively design and construct the components for our next generation applications and software.

Required Skills

  • Exceptionally well-organized and detail oriented personality
  • Advanced proficiency in Python
  • Bonus Points for one of the following languages: Erlang, Elixir, or Clojure
  • Experience with the following frameworks: celery, numpy, pandas, or Django
  • Experience writing machine readable APIs or RESTful endpoints for front end components (front-end React components would be plus)
  • Demonstrated competency with SQL and NoSQL data constructs
  • At least three years hands-on development in a Linux environment: Ubuntu or Debian preferred
  • Bonus Points: Experience with distributed message brokers (such as RabbitMQ, or Kafka)
  • Bonus Points: Working knowledge of stream processing frameworks (such as Storm) or micro-batch frameworks (such as Spark)

Required Experience

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) and a minimum seven years of relevant software development experience
  • Professional interest in energy and clean technologies
  • Must be comfortable operating in a fast moving environment where learning must be done quickly
