Industrial Erlang User Group

Advocates of Erlang programming language.

“The purpose of the Industrial Erlang User Group is to provide a forum allowing enterprise users of Erlang/OTP to work with Ericsson to secure the future health, wellbeing and commercial success of the Erlang programming language outside Ericsson.”
– From IEUG’s Mission Statement

Our Mission

We are dedicated to the future health, wellbeing and commercial success of the Erlang programming language outside Ericsson.

Community Growth

We are dedicated to the growth, increased awareness and user adoption in the Erlang ecosystem. We launched the Erlang community site, erlangcentral.org. We assist Ericsson with joint PR-related activities to raise awareness of Erlang/OTP in industry segments where Erlang is the “right tool for the job”.

Collaboration

We encourage active participation in the Erlang community. We establish a communication channel and allow enterprise users of Erlang/OTP to collaborate with Ericsson. We represent to Ericsson a combined view on a range of matters relating to Erlang/OTP. We complement Ericsson’s ongoing work on Erlang by ensuring items outside Ericsson’s roadmaps are funded and implemented, in terms of libraries, tool chains and contributions.

Open Development

We foster open development and collaboration around the Erlang ecosystem. We’ve negotiated with Ericsson and changed Erlang/OTP to a more open and globally accepted Apache License 2.0. We set up infrastructures to promote openness and community participation and to encourage innovation in the Erlang community.
