School of Erlang participants present the results of their work.

Software Defined Networking (SDN) is a powerful network technology able to aid the dynamic nature of upcoming network functions and intelligent applications. The operating costs of such a network are reduced because of hardware, software and management simplification.
In this meetup we’ll introduce basic concepts of Software Defined Networking (SDN) and the OpenFlow protocol. Then we’re going to present how we used this technology and Erlang to implement a simple traffic shaping mechanism for an XMPP server. The goal is to share our conclusions, ideas and be inspired!
Additionally, we have prepared a virtualized environment (based on Vagrant), where you can easily test our solution or start creating your own.
