Erlang OTP Workshop – HTTP REST Service
Tuesday, July 21, 2015
4:00 PM to 6:00 PM
303 Colorado St, Austin, TX
15th Floor Conference Room
This workshop will be hosted in the same conference room as the last meetup on the 15th floor of the Colorado Tower. I’ll have signage this time! So you can’t miss it.
You can park in our building and I’ll validate for you.
4 p.m. I will begin a presentation on OTP fundamentals
– Group will build a basic OTP application and follow along with a presentation on the Application Behavior.
– We’ll create a gen_server that can handle basic calls
– Then we’ll add in an HTTP server to provide a RESTful API service to your application.
Don’t worry about syntax or anything like that. I’ll have everything setup so you can just make it all work. You’ll see how OTP can make you very productive in a short time and take away a general understanding of how the components go together to form a “system” that runs in the Erlang VM.
I look forward to seeing you there! Text me @ 512-373-5456 for issues getting to the event.
Sorry for the timeslot, I know this doen’t work for everyone but I can’t use the room after 6 p.m. I had to work on them to let me have it past 5! I’m working on a new location trust me!
